The workshop combines structured exercises with individual support, helping participants develop observation skills, drawing confidence, and technical understanding.

You may join an ongoing group if a place is available.

During the course you will learn:

• Basics of drawing materials
• How to observe and measure proportions
• How to transfer what you see onto paper
• Quick sketches (3–5 minutes)
• Longer studies (up to 2 hours)
• Portrait drawing fundamentals
• Figure drawing fundamentals
• Perspective basics
• Studies of old master drawings
• Line quality, values, and shading techniques

The focus is on understanding rather than copying, helping you build skills that can be applied to any subject.

The workshop is organised into four core areas:

Portrait Drawing

Understanding facial proportions, structure, and observation.

Figure Drawing

Learning gesture, proportion, and the basics of the human figure.

Perspective

Developing spatial understanding and drawing three-dimensional forms.

Studies of Old Masters

Learning from historical drawings to better understand technique, observation, and composition.

All materials are included in the course fee:

• Easels and drawing boards
• White and toned drawing paper (up to 60 × 42 cm)
• Charcoal
• Graphite pencils
• Erasers

You are welcome to bring your own materials if preferred.

All drawings can be taken home after each session or collected at the end of the course.

Because classes run in small fixed groups (maximum 6 participants), missed sessions cannot normally be rescheduled or refunded.

If you inform the teacher at least 24 hours in advance (in writing), you may be offered a place in another session if a spot becomes available.

If you arrive late, the class will continue as scheduled.

Session time cannot be extended.

If a session must be cancelled due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances, a replacement date or course credit will be offered.
